Welcome to Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative, Inc.
If you would like to establish electric service within our area, please take the following steps so we may schedule connection appropriately to meet your needs:
Existing Location Connects and Transfers:
To connect or transfer service at an existing location, please complete an application for service electronically, by mail (notarized signature), or in-person at the office.
Residential Service Checklist:
- Application for Service form (signed and returned).
- Copy of Identification: Driver’s License, State ID Card, Passport, or Military ID is acceptable.
- Membership Fee of $10.00 (refundable) must be paid (new members only).
- Connect | Transfer of Service fee of $40.00 (non-refundable) must be paid.
- Service Deposit of $243.00 (Arkansas) or $191.00 (Oklahoma), which is refundable with interest, must be paid. In lieu of cash deposit, you may provide a letter of good credit rating for the previous 12 months from a former utility, or you may obtain the signature of a third-party guarantor who is an existing Rich Mountain Electric member with an active account of one year or more and have an on-time payment history.
- Social Security number must be on the application form.
- Any outstanding balances with the cooperative must be paid prior to connection.
Step One: Apply for Service
Contact our member services office at (479) 394-4140 or (877) 828-4074 (toll free) with your new service address so we may determine whether we are able to service your account. Also we will determine whether service has existed in the past or whether we will need to visit your location for site review or staking of new services.

- A membership fee of $10.00 will be required with your application.
- A one-time connection fee of $40.00.
Step Two: Pay the Required Deposit
- A deposit is required for new accounts. The deposit amount is regulated by the Public Service Commission and varies annually. Please contact member services for the applicable amount due.
- A new member has the option to pay the deposit in full or to pay half the deposit up front and Rich Mountain Electric will add the balance to your first billing statement
- A new member may provide a letter of credit from their past electric company showing an acceptable history of on time payments, and the deposit may be waived.
- A new member may obtain the signature of a third party guarantor and the deposit may be waived. The guarantor must be an existing Rich Mountain Electric member with an active account of one year or more, and have an on-time payment history in order to sign as guarantor.
- A past member wishing to reconnect service must first pay any outstanding balance that Rich Mountain Electric may be due.
Step Three: Return required documents to Rich Mountain Electric
