Move over: It’s the law
Please remember to slow down and move over when approaching roadside work zones and electric cooperative vehicles working on the side of the road. Work Zone Awareness Week is April 15-19.
In Arkansas, the Move Over law requires motorists to move over to the farthest possible lane when approaching work zone areas. The law is not only for emergency vehicles but also includes utility vehicles, tow trucks and highway department vehicles. Motorists who do not follow the law could face penalties and a suspended license, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
Let’s all do our part to keep roadside and utility crews, drivers and passengers safe.
